After announcing his retirement from first-class cricket recently, Tim Paine has joined Adelaide Strikers as their assistant coach ahead of the new Big Bash League (BBL) season.

The wicket-keeper played for the Hobart Hurricanes during his time in the BBL and represented them 44 times and scored more than 1100 runs.

His cricketing career took a major turn when Paine was handed over Australian Test captaincy following the sandpaper-gate scandal in 2018.

The 38-year-old was also recently announced as the assistant coach of the Australia A side ahead of their series against New Zealand A.
