Chief selector Ajit Agarkar had earlier stated that Team India squad for ODI World Cup 2023 will be similar to that of Asia Cup 2023 and it was certainly the case.

BCCI announced Team India squad for the quadrennial tournament which will be led by Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as his deputy. Sadly, Sanju Samson was not a part of the 15-member squad.

A fit-again KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were included in the squad and Suryakumar Yadav also got the backing in ODIs.

While Yuzvendra Chahal was once again left out, Asia Cup squad members Prasidh Krishna and Tilak Varma couldn't find a place in the World Cup squad.
