Following Team India's World Cup final loss against Australia in Ahmedabad, Rahul Dravid has reportedly blamed the pitch conditions for his side's dismal batting average at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

According to reports, Dravid was asked to explain in a private meeting with BCCI secretary Jay Shah and other officials as to what were the factors that led to his side failing to win the final in front of a packed home crowd on November 19.

Answering to the board, Dravid apparently said that the batters failed to give their best because of the unfavourable pitch conditions.

The final was played on the same pitch used during India's league stage encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan. Although the Indian batters were successful against Pakistan, they weren't able to churn out the same result against the Aussies.
