Tamim Iqbal to miss Asia Cup & also steps down as Bangladesh captain, here's why

Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of Asia Cup 2023 after suffering from a recurring back injury.

As a result, the left-hand opening batter also decided to step down as Bangladesh captain.

Tamim had retired from all forms of international cricket in July but withdraew his decision a day later.

He is expected to return to training only by the end of August and will be eyeing to get back into reckoning for the World Cup in India.
