When Mitchell Starc last played in the IPL, Rishabh Pant was playing for India's Under-19 side. 8 years later, he happily raised the paddle to bid for the Aussie pacer in IPL 2024 Auction.
Pant, who miraculously survived a car crash in December 2022, was present at the IPL Auction in Dubai on Tuesday and sat with the Delhi Capitals.
He even bid for Starc but DC failed to get him into their side as KKR paid a whopping ₹24.75 crore to get him to Kolkata.
Nevertheless, the sight of Pant with the Capitals left not just his fans happy, but DC's David Warner also tweeted for the southpaw. He wrote, 'Love seeing the skipper with the paddle.'
Reports of Pant making a comeback to professional cricket have been doing the rounds for a while now. He is likely to play IPL 2024 but might just be available as a batter.
