Renuka Singh Thakur wins ICC Emerging Women's Cricketer of the Year

India's newfound pace sensation Renuka Singh Thakur has won the ICC Emerging Women's Cricketer of the Year Award.

The 26-year-old proved to be one of India's best players during the Commonwealth Games & the Asia Cup. Her swing troubled many a batter in 2022 as she finished with 40 wickets from 29 matches in limited-overs cricket. She snaffled 22 wickets at an economy rate of 6.50 in T20s, while in 50-overs cricket, she picked up 18 scalps.

She beat the competition in Aussie bowler Darcie Brown, England all-rounder Alice Capsey & fellow countrywoman Yastika Bhatia to take home the award.
