MS Dhoni's contempt of court plea: Madras High Court to hear case on June 15

Madras High Court will hear a contempt of court plea filed by Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni against IPS officer G. Sampath Kumar on June 15. 

In his written response to the Rs 100 crore defamation lawsuit the cricketer had filed against the IPS officer in 2014, Dhoni had requested the court to punish Sampath Kumar for his remarks about the Supreme Court & the High Court.

The defamation suit was filed by Dhoni against Sampath Kumar, for the IPS officer had implicated the star cricketer in the betting scam.

After the betting and spot-fixing scandal came to light in 2014, the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals franchises were suspended for a period of two years, while Dhoni was given a clean chit.
