MS Dhoni's 2012 job offer letter | Here's how much former Indian captain earned

11 years ago, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the most successful captain of Indian cricket was reportedly offered a job by the former owners of Chennai Super Kings, India Cements. 

A 2012 job appointment letter of Dhoni is going viral on social media which shows that the World Cup-winning captain was appointed as the Vice President (marketing) of the company. While the 3-page letter was shared by IPL founder Lalit Modi on social media, he has now deleted the post. 

As per the images, Dhoni's salary was 1.7 lakhs which included a basic pay of Rs 43,000, HRA of 20,400, Dearness Allowance of 21,970, Special Pay of 20,000 and a special allowance of 60,000/month.

In 2012, Dhoni was also retained by CSK for 8.82 crores. Currently, the 42-year-old has a deal of Rs 15 crore with the IPL franchise that also won the 2023 edition of IPL.
