India's Mohammed Shami was the star of the show for India as he scalped a five-for against visitors Australia in Mohali in the opening one-day international of the 3-match series.
Shami's powerpacked performance helped India gain an upperhand over Pat Cummins' men with a 5-wicket win to take a 1-0 lead.
Speaking after the game, Player of the Match Shami elaborated on the importance of playing Australia before the ODI World Cup, 'Before such a big event, it is great to get such runs and confidence back because it helps for later, our team will have that bonding, confidence and body language...it all starts looking different. So it is important that in batting and bowling, in both departments, to get wickets and runs, is so important, before such events to play against such good opposition is the best preparation.'
