Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for Covid-19 but the Australian skipper has been still given the go-ahead to lead Australia in the upcoming T20I series against the West Indies.

Cricket Australia confirmed that Marsh will be allowed to play while following strict social-distancing protocols. He will have a separate dressing room and will maintain a distance from his teammates while fielding.

The first game of the 3-match T20I series against the Windies starts on February 9 in Hobart.

Marsh isn't the first one to contract the virus but in the Test series against the West Indies, Cameron Green tested positive for Covid-19 but he took the field in the 2nd Test in Brisbane while following distancing protocols.

Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis also tested positive during the recently concluded ODI series. Apart from the players Australia head coach Andrew McDonald also returned a positive report recently. Both followed strict protocols while being with the team.
