Ravi Shastri has opened up on the Virat Kohli and BCCI controversy and said that the row could have been handled better with good communication.

In an interview with the Indian Express, the former India head coach said that Virat has given his side of the story, but it needs the board president to explain his side now.

During South Africa's pre-departure press conference Virat had said that the BCCI had welcomed his decision to step down as the T20 captain. However, it was contrary to what board president Sourav Ganguly had said earlier. Dada had said that he personally requested Kohli not to step down as India's T20 skipper.
