The players' auction for the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is expected to take place on December 16.
As per a report in the Times of India, the IPL 2023 auction will be held in Bengaluru.
This time around it will be a mini-auction given the mega auction was held prior to IPL 2022 which saw a major rejig in teams for all franchises.

During IPL 2023 auction, the salary purse of franchises will be Rs 95 crore, an increase of Rs 5 crore from last year. This means each franchise will have reserves of at least Rs 5 crore to start with. The purse could swell if the IPL teams release players ahead of the auction.
IPL 2023 is likely to kick-start in the 4th week of March next year.
