Axar Patel, Shubman Gill, and Shardul Thakur won't be part of the squad for the third and final ODI against Australia in Rajkot on Wednesday.
Axar Patel, who has been recovering from a left quadriceps strain since the Asia Cup, was in the squad conditionally for the final ODI, contingent on his fitness. Currently undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, his recovery is progressing well, and the team management anticipates him to be fit for the upcoming World Cup.
In the latest update, Rohit Sharma, the captain, and Virat Kohli, who rested during the first two games of the series, are set to make their return to the lineup. However, Mohammed Shami, who played in the initial two games, and Hardik Pandya, who was absent in the earlier matches, are not part of the current squad.
According to the ESPNCricinfo report, due to a limited roster of only 13 players available, India might consider involving local first-class players from the Saurashtra team, if required, to contribute in the field during the match.
