IND vs SL: 2 bullet shells recovered from Sri Lanka team bus, Chandigarh Police on alert

In a shocking incident, Chandigarh police during a routine check-up found 2 bullet shells were recovered from a private bus being used to ferry the Sri Lankan cricket team.

The shells were recovered from the luggage compartment of the bus which was being used by the Lankan players to travel from the team hotel to the stadium in Mohali. The recovery was made when the bus was parked inside the hotel complex.

According to police sources, the bus was hired for a marriage function recently. Despite a ban, celebratory firing is common during marriages in Punjab. No FIR has been registered so far. The police have only registered a DDR.

Indian and Sri Lanka Test team members are currently in Chandigarh and go to the Mohali stadium for practice sessions. 1st Test starts on March 4.
