With a win on a tricky Thiruvananthapuram pitch, captain Rohit Sharma broke India's legendary captain, MS Dhoni's six-year-old record.
The 8-wicket win over South Africa in the 1st T20 International was Rohit's 16th victory as skipper in the shortest format this year, which is the most wins by an Indian captain in a calendar year in T20Is. In 2016, Dhoni had registered 15 wins.
