Australia began their tour to India with a four-day training camp in Bangalore on Thursday.

Vice-captain Steve Smith had said the team chose to have training sessions instead of playing a practice match as the only tour game in their previous tour was played on a "green top", which did not help the squad prepare for the kind of pitches they went on to face.

The 4-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy starts with the 1st Test from February 9 in Nagpur. Australia last won a Test series in India nearly twenty years ago.
