Australia suffered a major blow ahead of the first Test against India in Nagpur as pacer Josh Hazlewood's recovery from Achilles injury is not quick as expected.

Hazlewood is set to miss the Nagpur Test and is doubtful for the second Test in Delhi as well.

The 32-year-old had sustained the injury on his left leg after bowling in the rain-affected Sydney Test against South Africa last month.

In his absence, Scott Boland is likely to find a place in the Australian line-up. The Kangaroos are already without Mitchell Starc for the first Test as the pacer is nursing a finger injury.
