Former India coach Ravi Shastri opened up on KL Rahul losing the vice-captaincy of India.
In an ICC review podcast, Shastri said he always believed that India don't need a vice-captain in home conditions.
He also stated that if the vice-captain doesn't perform then somebody can take his place.

"Here (in home conditions) you want prime form, you want someone like Shubman Gill, who's red hot. He will challenge. He has to bang that door down and get into the side. Now, he's not the vice-captain, it has to be team management's decision,” Shastri added.
The third Test between India and Australia will kick start on March 1 at Holkar Stadium in Indore.
