ICC Test Rankings: Joe Root attains top spot, Ravichandran Ashwin retains No.1 rank

Joe Root was rewarded for his 30th Test ton in the 1st Ashes Test vs England as he rose to the top of ICC Test rankings for batters on Wednesday.

Root dethroned Marnus Labuschagne, who skipped to the 3rd spot. New Zealand's Kane Williamson climbed to the 2nd spot.

In the bowlers' rankings, India's Ravichandran Ashwin retained his number 1 spot despite not playing the WTC final vs Australia.

Ravindra Jadeja also held on to the top spot in the ICC Test rankings for all-rounders.
