The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced the total prize money of over Rs 46 crore ($5.6 million) for the ICC T20 World Cup Down Under.

The winner of the 2022 World Cup will take home Rs 13 crore ($1.6 million) while the runner-up will receive a sum of around Rs 6.5 crore. Meanwhile, the team that will get knocked out in the semi-final stage will get around Rs 3.5 crore.

Interestingly, the winner's prize money is still less than what IPL champions received in 2022. After winning the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League, Gujarat Titans won a whopping Rs 20 crore.
