Not a single member of the Indian men's cricket team has featured in ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year award nominations while star India opener Smiriti Mandhana got nominated in the Women's category.

For their outstanding performances across formats, England captain Joe Root, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, and Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan were short-listed for the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year Award. Meanwhile, Mandhana was shortlisted for the top award along with England's Tammy Beaumont, South Africa's Lizelle Lee, and Ireland's Gaby Lewis.

The 25-year-old Mandhana has scored 855 runs in 22 matches across formats in 2021 at an average of 38.86 with one century and five half-centuries.

Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy will be awarded to the winner of ICC Men's cricketer of the Year on January 24 while Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy to be awarded to Women’s Cricketer of the Year on January 23.
