In a big move that's sure to usher in a new era of equality in cricket, the International Cricket Council has announced that prize money at all ICC events will be the same for both men and women.

The decision was taken at ICC's Annual Conference in Durban and fulfilled the governing body's commitment to ensuring prize money equity well ahead of the 2030 deadline.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah broke the news through a post on Twitter, with cricket fans hailing the announcement on the social media platform.

Previously, the BCCI as well as New Zealand Cricket had announced equal pay for their women cricketers in terms of match fees.
