The Gujarat Titans secured their third win of IPL 2025, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets on Sunday. The 2022 champions, who initially stumbled with an 11-run loss to Punjab Kings, have since found their stride with a hat-trick of victories. Sunrisers, known for their dynamic batting, were unable to withstand GT's disciplined bowling attack, setting a modest target of 152/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

The chase was expertly anchored by captain Shubman Gill, who delivered a sublime, unbeaten 61, steering his team to victory in just 16.4 overs.

Reflecting on GT's impressive performance trajectory, ex-India captain Sourav Ganguly praised head coach Ashish Nehra on X (formerly Twitter) for his strategic acumen. Ganguly remarked, "Gujarat Titans have been impressive since their debut season. There's a lot of strategic depth in their team. Ashish Nehra has showcased his remarkable understanding of the game."

Gill's leadership on the field was complemented by Mohammed Siraj's fiery bowling, which yielded figures of 4/17, dismantling the SRH batting lineup.

Washington Sundar, at number four, added a crucial 29-ball 49, as GT smoothly chased down the 153-target with 20 balls remaining.

GT's bowling, featuring stellar performances from left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore (2/24) and seamer Prasidh Krishna (2/25), effectively contained SRH on a challenging pitch.

"In T20, bowlers are the true game changers," Gill commented post-match. He highlighted Sundar's innings and Siraj's infectious energy as key factors in their triumph.

Gill further elaborated on the strategy, emphasizing a focus on playing grounded shots and building steady partnerships.

"Once we had a solid partnership, it was about dictating terms," he noted, commending Sundar for his adaptability under the impact player rule.

This victory underscores GT's strategic prowess and positions them as formidable contenders in the tournament, while SRH grapples with their fourth loss in five matches.
