Born on August 19, 1973, in the bustling city of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, Chopra's cricketing journey is a compelling narrative of talent and determination.
Despite being overshadowed by more celebrated contemporaries, he carved out a significant niche as a right-arm off-break bowler and a right-handed lower-order batter, ultimately becoming an integral part of India’s ODI lineup.
Chopra made his debut in 1998, swiftly proving his worth as a valuable asset to the Indian team. His crowning moment came when he donned the national colours in the 1999 Cricket World Cup, marking a pivotal moment in his career.
He played 39 ODIs throughout his career, claiming an impressive 46 wickets. Despite his prowess, Chopra faced challenges, particularly in the Test arena, where he played just one match without taking a wicket.
