Dream11, a popular fantasy gaming platform, is poised to become the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team. According to a CricketNext report, the fantasy app has secured the sponsorship following a tender floated by the BCCI on June 14.
Previously, Byju's held an optional deal with the BCCI until November but chose to terminate the contract in March. Consequently, Team India has been without a jersey sponsor, which was evident during the recent World Test Championship final at The Oval.
While Adidas is the apparel sponsor, Team India jerseys will now have the Dream11 logo at the centre.
Under the previous deal with Byju's, the BCCI earned approximately Rs 5.5 crore for each bilateral fixture, while the value dropped to Rs 1.7 crore for ICC games due to logo positioning.
Although the exact figures of the deal with Dream11 are unknown, it is expected to be lower than the previous sponsorship agreement with Byju's.
