During a warm-up cricket match featuring Pakistan against the Prime Minister XI, Fox Cricket inadvertently used the derogatory term 'PAKI' in their live score ticker, sparking significant controversy.

An Australian journalist highlighted this broadcasting error by sharing a TV grab on social media on the match's opening day at the Manuka Oval. Cricket Australia later addressed and rectified the mistake, extending an apology for the incident.

The term 'PAKI' is recognized as a disrespectful label for individuals of Pakistani or South Asian origin.

Journalist Daany Saeed, who initially brought attention to the issue, shared another post stating Cricket Australia's apology. Saeed explained that the graphic was generated from an automatic feed from a data provider, which hadn't been used for a Pakistan game before. The error was quickly amended manually after being noticed, as clarified by Cricket Australia.
