Veteran Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara smashed an unbeaten double-ton in the second innings of his debut match for Sussex against Derbyshire at the County Championship on Sunday. Pujara hit 201* in 387 balls and the match ended in a draw.

Pujara put up a 351 run partnership in 119 overs for the third wicket with Tom Haines, who too scored a double century. Pujara was dismissed at the score of 6 in the first innings of this match. Pujara made a record for the highest individual score on the first-class debut for Sussex.
Pujara was dropped from the Indian Test team this year following the series in South Africa.
