Cheteshwar Pujara hits double hundred at the Lord's for Sussex, achieves a unique record

Cheteshwar Pujara continued with his brilliant form in county championships Division 2 as the Indian batter smashed his 3rd double hundred of the season for Sussex on Day 2 of their match vs Middlesex at the Lord's Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

With that, Pujara becoming the first Indian to score a first-class double hundred at the home of cricket in London. Pujara, who was named as the interim skipper of the English County side for this game, scored 403-ball 231, stitched with 21 fours and 3 sixes. His knock helped Sussex post 523 in their first innings.

He also broke the record for the most number of double hundreds by an Indian batter in county cricket. The record was previously held by Mohammad Azharuddin who had hit 2 double tons. 

Pujara has so far scored 3 double hundreds and 2 centuries in 7 games for Sussex.
