Due to the weather conditions in  Colombo, a reserve day has been added just for India vs Pakistan Super Four game in the Asia Cup 2023 tournament and the decision has not gone down well with the cricket fans.

Not only fans but also several former cricketers called out the decision to add the reserve day just for India Pakistan game which could not happen during the group game due to rain.

Former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad called it a shameless move. He said, 'in the name of justice, will only be fair if it is abandoned the first day, may it rain harder on the second day and these malicious plans not succeed'

While the cricket associations of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka clarified that the decision was taken with the consent of all 4 participating nations, fans from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have reacted sharply.

The Bangladesh coach Chandrika Hathurusinghe slammed the decision and said, 'I have not seen this kind of thing in any other tournament this changing rules in the middle of the tournament' Calling it unideal, he went on to say, 'we would love to have an extra day also'

Sri Lanka's coach Chris Silverwood also expressed his dissatisfaction and said that the decision surprised him at first. 'We don't organise the competition so there's nothing much we can do about that', he added.

India vs. Pakistan Super 4 game is scheduled for September 10 and the following day has also been reserved which means that if the rain plays spoilsport during the marquee clash, the match can be resumed the very next day from the point it got halted.

But as per the weather report of Colombo, the rain can spoil the game on both days.
