Asia Cup 2023: Bangladesh beat Afghanistan to keep Super Four hopes alive

Bangladesh kept its hopes of making it to Asia Cup 2023 Super Four alive as they beat Afghanistan by 89 runs in Lahore on Sunday.

Batting first, the Bangla Tigers found themselves 2 down for 63 in a must-win game. That's when Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Najmul Hossain Shanto shared a record 194-run stand, before Hasan retired hurt for 112.

Shanto also completed a weel-deserved ton as they powered Bangladesh to 334/5.

Chasing which, Afghanistan was 193/3 in 36 overs but faltered after that. it lost last 7 wickets for just 52 runs and was all out for 245.

They next take on Sri Lanka in a must-win game on Tuesday.
