Scenes during Afghanistan vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022 match turned ugly not just on the field but off it as well.
A brawl broke out between fans from both the countries in the stands as they were seen throwing chairs at each other. It was a riot-like situation at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium as the spectators abused and damaged property.
Many former cricketers including Shoaib Akhtar have condemned the act. The former Pakistan speedster said that Afghan fans have done this in the past as well. He even tagged the former Chief Executive of the Afghanistan Cricket Board Shafiq Stanikzai and wrote ' your crowd & your players both need to learn a few things if you guys want to grow in the sport.'
Tempers flared towards the end of the match when Afghanistan pacer Fareed Khan and Pakistan's Asif Ali had a verbal fight with the Pakistani batter even raising his bat. The Men in Green eventually won a thriller which led to a fight between fans.
