Asia Cup 2022: Indian pacer Avesh Khan ruled out, replacement announced

Indian pacer Avesh Khan has been ruled out of Asia Cup due to a fever-related illness.

Deepak Chahar, who was picked as a standby for the tournament, replaces him in the squad.

According to a PTI report, Avesh Khan has a fever and his sinus issues have made it impossible for him to play anymore this tournament.

While coach Rahul Dravid expected Avesh to be fit after he missed the match against Pakistan, the report confirms that the BCCI medical team ruled him out after his sinusitis surfaced post-illness.

Deepak Chahar, who made a comeback to the Indian side in Zimbabwe after a long injury layoff, will now be available for selection from the next game against Afghanistan.
