It's been over 2 weeks to Jonny Bairstow's controversial stumping in the 2nd Ashes Test at Lord's but it's still the topic of discussion.
Alex Carey, the Australian wicketkeeper who inflicted that stumping, finally broke his silence on the most-talked about incident in the Ashes so far.
'Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I absolutely respect that. Everyone's entitled to their opinion on the spirit of cricket as well,' Carey told ESPNcricinfo.
Talking about the dismissal, he said that him and his side were stuck to a bouncer plan and Bairstow was pretty switched on to getting out of the way as he wasn't playing any shots.
'When he ducked his first movement was pretty much out of his crease, so I instinctively grabbed the ball, threw the stumps down and the rest is history,' Carey added.
Asked if he would do it again, he said, 'If there was an opportunity to get a stumping, I definitely would.'
