Australia have made two changes in their Playing XI for the third Ashes Test, starting on Boxing Day at The Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Skipper Pat Cummins revealed on Christmas Day that Scott Boland will make his debut for Australia. Meanwhile, the regular skipper too returned to Australia Playing XI after missing the previous Test.

When Boland earns his baggy green hat on Sunday, the 32-year-old will become the first indigenous Australian Test player since Jason Gillespie's last match in 2006.

Pacer Jhye Richardson will miss the Boxing Day Test due to a minor leg injury while Michael Neser is certainly dropped from the team owing to his lackluster performance in the second Ashes Test.

Australia team management do not make any changes in their batting order given Marcus Harris got the full-backing of head coach Justin Langer despite his poor form in the first two Ashes Test.

Australia Playing XI: David Warner, Marcus Harris, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland.
