Afghanistan's Naveen-ul-Haq to retire from ODIs after World Cup 2023

Afghanistan cricketer Naveen-ul-Haq has announced that he will retire from ODI cricket after the 2023 edition of the World Cup which begins on October 5th. 

Naveen who is 24-year old made his debut in 2016 and has played 7ODIs and taken 14 wickets. While he has been a regular in the T20 format, for almost 2 years he hasn't played in the 50-over format. The fast bowler, however, has been named in the World Cup squad. 

Announcing the news on his social media, Naveen said, 'it hasn’t been an easy decision to make but to prolong my playing career had to make this tough decision'



Afghanistan are set to begin their World Cup campaign on October 7 against Bangladesh in Dharamsala.
