With India picking only four pacers for the T20 World Cup Down Under, former Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson called the squad selection 'a bit risky'.

While talking to the news agency PTI, Johnson stated that Team India are a pacer short and in Australia, a team surely needs to play three pacers and possibly four in certain conditions such as Perth.

In the recently concluded Asia Cup in the UAE, many former cricketers and experts criticised the Indian team management for being one pacer short. And in games against Pakistan & Sri Lanka, captain Rohit Sharma in fact went in with only two recognised pacers in Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh with all-rounder Hardik Pandya being their third quick option.

For the T20 World Cup in Australia, India have picked Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Arshdeep Singh. Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar have been kept as standbys.

India will begin their ICC T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 23.
