CWG: Indian men’s hockey team go top of Pool B, qualify for semi-finals

The Indian men’s hockey team qualified for the semi-finals at the Commonwealth Games with a victory over Wales in their final group encounter.

While India failed to break the nought in the first quarter, Harmanpreet Singh scored two goals in as many minutes from his drag flicks to give India a 2-0 lead in the 2nd quarter.

The Indian vice-captain then completed a hat-trick from a penalty stroke that saw him sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Gurjant Singh then made it 4-0 in the fourth quarter before Wales pulled one back.
But the 4-1 victory took India to the top of their group.
