CWG: India’s Priyanka Goswami clinches Silver with her personal best in 10,000m race walk

An event in track and field that many Indians might not even know about.

And yet, India’s Priyanka Goswami made history on Saturday afternoon by clinching the Silver medal in the discipline at the Commonwealth Games.

The 26-year-old from Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, clocked her personal best of 43:38.83 in Birmingham to finish 2nd in the final.

She finished behind Australia’s Jemima Montag, who claimed the Gold medal by setting a new Commonwealth Games record of 42:34.30.
