CWG: Boxers Amit Panghal & Mohd Hussamuddin advance to quarter-finals

Indian boxers Amit Panghal & Mohd Hussamuddin both stormed into the last eight with super-impressive displays in their respective categories.

Panghal, a World Championships silver medallist, defeated Vanuatu's Namri Berri in a one-sided encounter to enter the quarter-finals of his flyweight (51 kg) category.

Boxer Mohd Hussamuddin also cruised into the quarter-finals of his featherweight (57 kg)category. Like Panghal, Hussamuddin too won with a 5-0 scoreline. He beat Bangladesh's Mohd Salim Hossain in the Round of 16.

A victory in the next round will assure India of a medal since there's no third place playoff in boxing and even if a boxer loses the semi-final bout, he or she gets the bronze.
