The 2018 Silver Medalist put the disappointment of his mixed team event final loss behind him and won 21-9, 21-9.

There was a disappointment though for the mixed doubles pair of Ashwini Ponappa & B Sumeeth Reddy as they crashed out of the Games in the first round itself.
