India on Thursday saw a slight uptick in daily Covid cases with 67,000 new infections in 24 hours. The country had recorded 62,000 cases on Wednesday and 60,000 on Tuesday. This is the tenth consecutive day that infections have remained below 1 lakh.
The country also recorded 2,330 deaths due to Covid in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 3.81 lakh, according to the health ministry dashboard on Thursday morning.
The number of active cases has hit a 71-day low at 8.2 lakh and now constitutes 2.92% of the caseload.
India's daily test positivity rate, which is positive cases identified for every 100 tests, continues to decline. It stood at 3.48 per cent staying below 5 per cent for the 10th straight day.
