Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been targeting his own government in state over the power crisis, is himself sitting on an unpaid electricity bill of over 8 lakh.

According to the website of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, electricity charges worth ₹ 8,67,540 of his Amritsar home are yet to be paid, with Friday as the last date for making the payment.

Sidhu has been targeting CM Amarinder Singh, who also hold the charge of power minister, over power cuts in the state.

"There is no need for power cuts in Punjab or for the Chief Minister to regulate office timings or AC use of the common people ... if we act in the right direction," Sidhu had tweeted on Friday.
