An alleged sex scandal has rocked the Karnataka govt. State minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has resigned after he was booked in the wake of a CD that purportedly showed the minister sexually exploiting a woman on the promise of a govt job.

The minister said he has resigned on moral grounds while denying charges levelled against him. Chief minister BS Yeddiyurappa has accepted Jarkiholi's resignation.

Earlier, union minister Pralhad Joshi had said that the BJP will take action after checking the authenticity of the alleged sex video tape.
