Indian equity markets opened with marginal gains on Wednesday even as most of the Asian bourses remained in the red.
At around 9:25 am, the Sensex was 49 points or 0.10% higher at 48,487 and the Nifty was trading at 14,224, up 0.18%.
GAIL, ONGC, Titan, Indian Oil and L&T were the top five Nifty movers. Whereas Eicher Motors, HDFC Life, Axis Bank, ITC and Reliance were the worst performers in the morning session.
