Saunf, or fennel seeds often make their way to the table as a mouth freshener after a meal. But did you know they're packed with benefits?

Fennel seeds, experts believe, may help curb appetite. The plant gets its appetite-suppressing properties from Anethole, an organic flavoring agent found in saunf, and studies are on to back these claims.

The fibre-rich seeds are loaded with antioxidants including chlorogenic acid, quercetin and apigenin which reduce inflammation and enhance overall health.

You can drink saunf water, by soaking saunf in a jug and letting it rest overnight. Pregnant women, however must steer clear since it has strong estrogenic properties.
