The Income Tax department has attached late TN CM Jayalalithaa's close aide VK Sasikala's assets worth 1500 crores, NDTV has reported The action has come months before Sasikala's release from jail, where she has been serving a 4-year term after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case in which Jayalalithaa was the prime accused. VK Sasikala cannot contest election for two more years and since Jayalilathaa's death, the politics in her party and the state has vastly changed. She had tried to take over the party after Jaya's death and even made attempts to take over as CM until she was jailed.
