Samsung set to invest over $10 billion for US chipmaking plant

Samsung is reportedly set to invest over $10 billion in building its most advanced chipmaking plant in the US. The South Korean tech giant is gearing up to catch up with industry leader TSMC when it comes to manufacturing logic chips, and is reportedly in discussions to open a facility in Austin, Texas. The new setup is expected to make Samsung capable of making chips on the 3 nanometer process, with operations set to begin as early as 2023.
