Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S22 series launch dates revealed

Known leaker Jon Prosser has unveiled the possible launch dates for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, and Samsung Galaxy S22 series of smartphones.

According to Prosser, the Galaxy S21 FE will be unveiled at an Unpacked event on January 4, 2022. The phone will have no pre-order period, but will be available to buy from January 11, 2022.

Prosser also said that the Galaxy S22 series, expected to comprise the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra would be unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event on February 8. Pre-orders for the devices are expected to open on the same day, and the Galaxy S22 series will be available to purchase from February 18, 2022.

It is important to note that Samsung has not announced any official dates for the launch of these devices, and that these speculated dates are subject to change.

Galaxy S21 FE specs

To recall, the Galaxy S21 FE is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. It may feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For optics, Samsung may opt for a triple camera setup similar to the Galaxy S21 series, with a 12MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide, and 64MP telephoto camera. The phone may also pack in a 4,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. A support page spotted on Samsung’s German website also indicates that the phone may support dual-sim functionality.

Galaxy S22 Ultra specs

The Galaxy S22 Ultra could be styled after Samsung’s Note series, with squared edges, and even integrate an S-Pen that docks into the body. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 898 and Exynos 2200 chipsets, and could feature a similar camera setup to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, with a 108MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and two 10MP telephoto lenses with 3X and 10X zoom respectively.
