Russian tennis player arrested from French Open

Russian tennis player Yana Sizikova was arrested by French police as part of a match-fixing investigation. The 26-year-old doubles specialist was arrested from her hotel in Paris and was taken into custody in relation to an investigation dating last year for sports corruption and organised gang fraud. Sizikova lost her French Open hoping round doubles match in straight sets on Thursday while partnering with her compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova. The tennis player is accused of throwing away a few points during a match last year which was the focus of heaving betting involving thousands of Euros.
