BCCI president Sourav Ganguly reiterated his belief in Rohit Sharma and said that the Hitman will find a way to do well as India's limited-overs captain.

In an interview to News18, Ganguly said that Rohit has a phenomenal record in the IPL. He captained India in Asia Cup a couple of years ago which India won without Kohli. 'To win a title without Virat spoke volumes of that team’s strength. So, Rohit has had success in big tournaments and that’s why the selectors backed him' added Dada.

Ganguly also revealed that he had personally asked Virat not to step down as India's T20 skipper but Kohli was under a lot of workload and went ahead with his decision. But BCCI didn't want two white-ball captains, therefore they decided to appoint Rohit Sharma the ODI captain as well.
